San Diego, California — The world’s largest hotel chain is set to open a brand new hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego.
Flour Corp., which has operated hotels around the world, is the first new hotel to be built in the San Diego International Airport since the end of World War II.
The new hotel, at 9th and Main, will open in 2018, with plans to eventually build a hotel on the site of the former San Diego Convention Center.
It is expected to attract about 2,000 guests a night.
The hotel will feature luxury amenities such as a 24-hour spa and fitness center.
The new hotel will be the second of four planned for the site.
Flour Corp. said it is planning to open the new hotel on September 25, 2019.
